The ninety one year voyage from the 600 block of Habersham Street to the 6400 block of Habersham Street with stops in Ardsley and Kensington Parks came to an end on December third with the death of Gail Rosen Rosenzweig. She passed away surrounded by her family. She was born to Raymond and Millie G. Rosen and spent her early Savannah years in the Habersham and Huntingdon streets where she knew what street cars were going by from the squeaks in the wheels. She loved the neighborhood with neighbors like the Ryans, the Rabhans, the Schrecks, and the Garfunkels all close by. Leopold’s was down Habersham on Gwinnett where she knew all the brothers by name. A grocery list from her mother was often filled at the A and P right there. She went to Massie School, Richard Arnold and graduated from Savannah High in 1950.

She worked at Levy Jewelers as a teenager on Broughton Street and later in life at the Oglethorpe Mall. She much very enjoyed the friendships she made with her customers. The best days of her career is when Elwood Watson managed the Oglethorpe Mall store, Shiela Weiss was at Savannah Mall, Marilyn Cranman was on Broughton Street and Aaron Levy was at the helm. She was very active in the formative years of the Savannah Hebrew Day School in the 1960s. She was a member of B’nai Brith Jacob Synagogue.

She is survived by her sister Harriet S. Rosen and by her four children Lynn, Susan and Harvey Rosenzweig all of Savannah and Sydney R. Sher of Ramat bet Shemesh, Israel; a devoted niece, Laurie Rubnitz of Savannah; her grandchildren and great-grand children, Yossi and Simcha Sher and their son Lev; Miriam and Binyomin Freeman and their children, Gittel Leah, Nechama Leiba, Moshe Aryeh Leib, Baruch Dov, Chana Perel, and Yisroel Meir Freeman; Shoshana and Yitzchok Dorfman and their sons Shmuel and Moshe Eliyahu; Yaakov and Miriam Sher and their daughter Shirel Or; Dovid and Ayelet Sher and their son Naveh; Daniyel and Brachi Sher and their son Nosson Tzvi; Shlomo and Tehilla Sher; Mordy, Yehoshua and Simcha Sher
